How To Choose The Right Ink Pad For Your Stamp Project

What is the best ink pad to purchase?? This is a question we tend to get often!  Finding the right kind of ink pad for your project can be a chore!  Where do you even begin?  The most important question is, what will you be using the ink pad for?

If you will be stamping on bags, paper, envelopes, wood, clay, glass, plastics, ceramics, leather, or something else, you want an inkpad that is going to give you the best impression you can get!  My recommendation is either the Stazon or Colorbox ink pad depending on what you will be stamping!

So which one of those should you buy for your project?  Let’s start with the Colorbox ink pads first!

Important Information and Tips For Color Box Ink Pads

1. Wicked Black is the most popular color but there are many colors to choose from!

2. It is fast drying and permanent-you many want to practice a few impressions first!!!

3. Perfect for projects that you need to finish fast!

4. Best ink to stamp on paper and gives you a clear, crisp impression!

5. Ideal for scrapbooking and other projects where you want it to last and not fade over time!

6.  Easy clean up with just a little water and paper towel!

What if you what an ink pad that gives your project a pop?  Stamping on dark paper?  I recommend using the Color Box Metallic ink pads .  These metallic inks are great for embossing and blending!  Just be sure to allow plenty of drying time when using the metallic inks!  Don’t ruin your amazing project by being impatient! (which I tend to do!)

What if your project needs a little more power?   If you are stamping on wood, glass, metal, or metallic papers, then I would recommend using the StazOn ink pad.

Important Information and Tips For StazOn Pads

  1. Need to stamp on something dark or black? I recommend the opaque inks! I just love white ink on dark gray envelopes!

  2. I know this may sound weird….. but I actually love the way it smells!

  3. Great for stamping on a porous surface such as wood, fabric, stone, glass, metallic papers, cork, or cardboard!

  4. StazOn comes in a large variety of colors as well:)

  5. This ink is permanent as well, so be careful and practice first!

  6. Last a really long time!  I'm still using the same ink pad from over a year ago!

  7. Your stamping possibilities are truly endless with this inkpad!

  8. Perfect for stamping on metallic wedding envelopes!  Dries fast!

One more question we get often about ink pads is …...How do I use regular ink pads on larger stamps?  Both of these ink pads work great for any size stamp.  Watch this video and see how to get the best impression when using your larger stamp!

Happy Stamping!!
